校内各有關單位:
美國哈佛燕京學社每年資助我國人文和社會科學領域的學者赴美深造。根據相關通知精神,現将我校遴選2009-2010學年度該項目候選人的相關事宜通知如下。
一、資助研究領域
1.人類學(Anthropology)
2.考古學(Archaeology)
3.曆史(History)
4.語言學(Linguistics)

6.哲學(Philosophy)

9.社會學(Sociology)
二、身份類别及資助期限
1.訪問學者:資助期限為11個月,受資助人員将赴哈佛大學進行研究和學習。
2.訪問人員:資助期限為3個學期,受資助人員将赴哈佛大學進行博士論文研究。
三、申報條件
1.具有良好的思想和業務素質,并在工作、學習中表現突出,具有學成回國為祖國建設服務的事業心和責任感。
2.品德優良、身心健康。
3.曾獲得國家留學基金資助出國留學的人員以及單位公派留學人員,回國後工作一般須滿2年方可申請。
4.至少已在我校工作2年的在職教師。
5.申報訪問學者的申請人,年齡不得超過45(含)周歲。
6.申報訪問人員的申請人,應是在職攻讀博士學位。正在進行東亞研究的人員在遴選時将予以優先考慮。
7.申報訪問人員的申請人,必須在2008年9月1日前提供有效TOEFL考試。
8.已錄取及以前錄取尚未派出的國家留學基金項目、校際交流項目和經學校選拔的單位公派項目的人員,以及已申請其他國家或單位公派留學項目尚無審批結果的人員不得再次申請。
四、有關經費
哈佛燕京學院對每個申請人提供往返路費和在美國參加一次學術會議的資助。對于訪問學者項目錄取人員,提供的資助标準為每月2940美元,以及健康保險費和在哈佛門診的得看病費用;對于訪問人員項目錄取人員,提供作博士論文相關費用以及足夠一個人使用的生活費(2006-2007學年為每月2000美元)。
五、派出及管理
1.被錄取的人員均以單位公派身份派出,派出前簽訂《吉林大學公派出國協議書》,辦理公證、交存保證金等派出手續。
2.原則上被錄取人員不能延長派出期限。
3.入選者若調離學校或未經批準出國未歸将自動退出本項目,違約賠償金(不含違約金)退還學校。
4.在材料上報之後、正式結果公布之前不可以申報其它公派項目;錄取之後也不可以放棄、改派或兼報其它項目。
5.回國15日内辦理報到手續,同時提交在國外的工作情況、工作成果以及對本學科、對學校發展的意見和建議等方面的書面材料,并在本單位舉辦一次學術研讨或報告會,由單位負責人簽署意見、加蓋公章。
6.教師有責任回國并履行學校規定的義務。
五、申請事宜
由于剛剛獲得外方通知,時間非常緊,請各單位于2008年6月23日(周一)前務必将申報教師填寫的《吉林大學公派出國留學人員申請表》和《公派出國留學項目預備人選一覽表》(以上表格均可在人事處主頁下載)及外語考試成績證明報到人事處師資培養科(行政樓820室)。學校将對所有人選進行綜合評審,最後确定的人選填寫正式申請材料。申報教師請提前拟填寫向外方提交的相關材料。

- Eligibility:
Visiting Scholars Program candidates should have been serving at their home university for at least two years as a full time faculty. Scholars who gained their Ph.D. in an English speaking institution in the past five years are not eligible for applying for this program.
- Coverage of the scholarships:
The following is the detailed information on the fellowship coverage:
Visiting Scholars Program: Round trip airfare for a selected scholar; A stipend of US $3,100 per month for the period of residence in Cambridge, Massachusetts (for 11 months); Fees for health insurance and the use of the Harvard Health Service;
Funding (up to $500.00) for one-time participation in an academic conference within the USA.
Visiting Fellows Program: Round trip airfare from a selected fellow’s home institution to Boston; Payment of the Harvard University Visiting Fellows fee; A stipend adequate for a single scholar (for 2008-09, the monthly stipend is $2,100) for three semesters,
Funding for one time participation in an academic conference within the USA.
